Kevin Keating, CPM®
Kevin Keating is the MHLI Director of Training responsible for overseeing both the instructors and course developers. Additionally, he has been the senior instructor for MHLI for the past nine years. Mr. Keating is a former Infantry officer who served in a variety of Infantry command assignments as well as a variety of Engineering positions, including Executive Officer for an Engineer Group equivalent-sized organization, Resident Engineer, and Director of Public Works (DPW). He has also been an instructor at the University of South Florida and Eckerd College.

Rick Worrell, CHA
Rick Worrell contributes to the MHLI team as its Deputy Director of Training. He is also the Owner/President of GTG Consulting in Manassas, VA. In his capacity as Deputy Director of Training, Mr. Worrell develops and delivers all of MHLI’s UH Focus Area courses. Certified by the American Hotel and Lodging Association as a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), he has over 35 years of Hotel/ Restaurant management experience. Prior to his retirement from the Navy in 1996, Mr. Worrell was a key member of the Navy’s Bachelor Quarters Program Management Office and has been associated with Single Service Member housing programs for over 15 years. Today, Mr. Worrell is an in-demand UH instructor and frequent contributor to Defense Communities Magazine.

Mike Anderson
M
ike Anderson is a frequent instructor for MHLI. He is a retired Naval officer with experience in both lodging and unaccompanied housing management. He has more than 15 years course development and classroom experience in the military market and holds an MBA in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management. Mike teaches a variety of Navy Housing courses and specializes in housing property management systems.

Aole Ansari
Aole Ansari is a senior vice president and executive general manager of business development for the Lend Lease public partnership business. Mr. Ansari is responsible for delivering business growth opportunities for Lend Lease’s privatization portfolio to include lodging, energy and multi-family sectors. Prior to this position, Aole served as general manager for Lend Lease’s lodging portfolio operations, leading all aspects of the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program. The PAL program is a $1 billion U.S. Army privatization initiative created to recapitalize existing hotels and reposition them as branded properties under the Holiday Inn Express® brand, and build new Candlewood Suites® hotels.
Mr. Ansari joined Lend Lease in 2004 as a vice president of development. Prior to joining the company, he spent 12 years as an Officer in the U.S. Navy before accepting a position at Citigroup Corporate Investment Bank. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Mary M. Benzinger
Mary M. Benzinger is a U.S. Army Legal Assistance Attorney at the Pentagon Army and Air Force Legal Assistance Office. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, DC and received her juris doctor from the Washington College of Law, The American University, Washington, DC. She has been a Member of the Virginia State Bar since 1987. Before coming to the Army, she was in private practice in Northern Virginia for 19 years with her primary practice being Family Law. Ms. Benzinger is the former President of the Arlington County, Virginia Bar Association, former Chair of the Virginia State Bar Lawyer Referral Service, currently Treasurer of the Virginia State Bar Conference of Local Bar Associations and member of the Board of Governors of the Virginia State Bar Military Law Section. Ms. Benzinger is a frequent lecturer on many legal issues of concern to Servicemembers including Family Law, Family Support and Custody, Estate Planning, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and the Uniform Services Former Spouse Protection Act.

Doug Chasick, CPM, CAPS, CAS, SLE, CDEI
Doug Chasick is the Chief Learning Officer of CallSource. With over 36 years of property management experience, he began as the Resident Manager of a 524-unit apartment property, and has been the
President or CEO of five real estate companies, responsible for portfolios of over 28,000 apartments, and
more than 8 million square feet of commercial, retail and industrial properties. Mr. Chasick was awarded his CPM® in 1979 and was a member of the IREM National Faculty for eight years. He is a member of the NAAEI Faculty and is the 2010 recipient of the NAAEI ACE Award for Professional Educators. A member of the NAAEI faculty, he leads the Advanced Instructor Training course and NAAEI designation courses; is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida and Georgia, a licensed Expert Fair Housing Instructor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and is an NAA/HUD certified Lead Hazard Awareness Training course Instructor.

Rich George
Rich George is the owner and managing director of NOI Coach, a business coaching, consulting and training firm based in Michigan. A successful business person with over 20 years of business experience, Mr. George brings a no-nonsense approach to strategic planning and a passion for employee development and culture building. His background includes the management of over two billion dollars of real-estate assets, and over 50 million dollars of capital re-investment strategies. Mr. George has been involved with successful acquisitions, dispositions, merger facilitation, and repositions. Key to his portfolio is the management of highly distressed properties, including those in court receivership. Known for his team building, culture changing, and change management skills, he leads the market in promotion and preservation.

Paul Giese
Paul Giese is the AHRN Project Manager at Runzheimer International.  He has managed the AHRN project since its inception and is responsible for coordinating all efforts related to the AHRN program including; system design, development, implementation, and marketing.  He works closely with representatives from OSD and each of the Uniformed Services to guide the overall direction of the AHRN program.

William James
William James has been a mediator with the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) since 1995. He is retired from the US Navy, where his assignments included human resources management, substance abuse counseling and submarine duty. He has served on NCRC’s Board of Directors, as well as EEO, Workplace, Parent-teen and Juvenile Court mediation panels for NCRC, and is an evaluator for NCRC’s Credentialing Program. As a trainer, he has represented NCRC in many assignments. He has a BA in Business Management from Christian Heritage College, a MS in Project Management from Keller School of Management and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University.

Frank Kaleba
Frank Kaleba is a Professional Engineer, Certified Planner and Master Code Professional. He directs facilities modeling and estimating for the DOD Sustainment Requirements Models (SRM). He recently developed inspection protocols and costing algorithms for two facilities inspection products for OSD and the Navy and has performed specialized inspections for Camp David, Raven Rock and the Naval Academy.
With the Civil Engineer Corps, he served as chief engineer for the Navy Surgeon General, as public works officer in Scotland, Hawaii, Washington and Naples, and with Construction Battalions Pacific in Vietnam. Frank holds a BS in Engineering (Northwestern University), MBA (University of Hawaii), Master of Urban Planning (University of Virginia).

Laura Kass-Moreno
Laura Kass-Moreno began practicing law in 1982. Her vast experience includes civil litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex business and real estate matters, as well as handling insurance matters. Laura has been a credentialed mediator for 10 years with expertise in contract disputes, employment/workplace issues, real estate and homeowner’s association matters and has conducted numerous, multi-party facilitations involving a wide range of challenging issues. Laura is currently the National Conflict Resolution Center’s (NCRC) Credential Program mentor. She is also a mediation/conflict management trainer for NCRC.

Debbie Koenen
Debbie Koenen is the AHRN Project Leader at Runzheimer International. She has been involved with the AHRN program since 2005 and is responsible for providing ongoing AHRN support to military housing offices, including training.

Joel Leonard
Joel Leonard has traveled the globe to elevate workforce performance. Over the last two years, he has helped support the growth and expansion of the 11-county region surrounding Fort Bragg by coaching the eight local community college presidents.
A former vice-president of the Association for Facilities Engineering, Mr. Leonard is taking the lead internationally in identifying, explaining and helping to solve the maintenance problem.
Mr. Leonard has been a contributing columnist for Plant Services Magazine for the past five years and also writes for MaintWorld Magazine out of Helsinki, Finland and contributes regularly to the Strategic Asset Management Newsletter out of Australia. Additionally, he founded SkillTV.net, the first on-line television network dedicated to helping build awareness of and offering solutions to the “Maintenance Crisis.”

Kevin Pearson
Kevin Pearson has 22 years experience in real estate, finance and banking. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Providentia Consulting and Management, Inc., a woman owned small business (WOSB) with special expertise in public/private partnerships, military family housing and multi-family housing. Mr. Pearson was a National Director at Jones Lang LaSalle working in both the Chicago and San Antonio offices. He was the Program Manager responsible for developing and executing Jones Lang LaSalle’s Portfolio Management Program supporting the United State Air Force’s Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI). In this role, he monitored construction, operational and financial performance of 26 projects at 43 Air Force bases, comprised of 37, 244 homes and valued over $6.4B. He participated in the $160M structured refinancing of two projects and the sale and restructure of four failed projects. He also worked in a variety of strategic and analytical capacities, including nearly two years focusing on highest and best use analysis, and valuation and disposition of undervalued investment properties such as undeveloped land, rail yards and parking facilities.
Mr. Pearson earned his M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a B.A. in finance from Lewis University and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Cris Robinson
As the BAH Project Manager, Ms. Robinson manages the survey and analysis processes used in establishing the BAH rates. Along with extensive experience with survey projects, field research, and statistical analysis, she is an expert in housing research, and has traveled to numerous installations for site visits, command briefings, and hands-on training of housing referral personnel. She has worked closely with the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) and the Uniformed Services on the BAH program for more than a decade.

Judy Shepherd
Judy Shepherd is a Housing Management Specialist with the Housing Services Office (HSO) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, where she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of HSO operations including the Rental Partnership Program. Her past experience includes being a Department of the Army Housing Intern and working at a community college. Judy began her federal career with Army Housing in 2008 as an intern where she trained at Fort Lewis and Fort Huachuca. Judy holds the Certified Defense Privatization Manager (CDPM) and Certified Unaccompanied Housing (CDUHM) designations and has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Washington. She is currently pursuing a professional certificate from the NeighborWorks Training Institute in Homeownership and Community Lending.

Barry Singer
Barry Singer has over 25 years of experience as a senior manager and business owner. Currently he is the CEO of a leading Online Education company. As a 10+ year speaker at PHMA/PDS his knowledge of your goals and needs help him provide you with real-world solutions to office frustrations. He brings a contagious and energetic style to give attendees a productive and memorable day. Barry has taken his knowledge around the world to The Online Media, Marketing and Advertising Association (OMMA), Wrangler, First Data, Panasonic and Chrysler.

Mark Towers

Jeffrey White
Jeffrey White, technical director for BedBug Central and host of BedBug TV, has over 10 years of experience as an entomologist and offers expertise in many different areas of entomology including bed bug research, protocol development, and evaluating the efficacy of bed bug treatment methods. He has worked on the technical evaluation of different products as well as developing bed bug management programs for residential and commercial properties.
Mr. White has been featured as a bed bug expert on NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams, NBC’s Today’s Show, ABC’s World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, Animal Planet’s “Infested”, Dateline, among many others. Also, BedBug Central TV is an online weekly video podcast viewed by thousands of people across the world that discusses different topics and answers questions in regards to bed bugs.

Charlie Williams
Charlie Williams is the Owner and President of Advantage Management Services. He has served as an instructor and Program Manager for MHLI since November 2008 where he has performed services for both Army and Navy. He is a retired Housing Program Director and RCI Director for the Army. Williams has Housing experience in Privatization, Army Family Housing, Housing Referral Services, and Unaccompanied Personnel Housing. He has been recognized for his work as the PHMA Senior Housing Manager of the Year as well as the Installation Management Command’s Senior Housing Executive of the Year. Most recently he was awarded the PHMA Founder’s Award.
Williams graduated with honors from the Kansas University’s Master of Public Administration which he attended as the Army’s first Housing Advanced Studies selectee. He was recognized by his peers when he was inducted into Pi Alpha Sigma, the Public Administration Honor Society. He has had numerous articles published in Defense Communities. Williams currently resides in Augusta, Georgia.

Cheryl Anne Woehr
Ms. Woehr is the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) Program Manager in the Defense Travel Management Office, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy. In this capacity, she is responsible for analyzing housing cost data and establishing rates. Ms. Woehr has worked for Navy and DoD in a variety of budget, personnel, and compensation positions over the last 15 years, with six years of BAH program experience.

Dan Wonderly
Dan Wonderly has worked in housing for nearly 25 years, starting his career at the headquarters of Navy Housing. In 2005 the Navy Housing headquarters, region and installation IT programs were consolidated into one program and Mr. Wonderly became the program lead. Under his leadership the Navy consolidated housing IT contracts; migrated “best of breed” housing applications into a single web based single sign-on application and replaced 80 locally hosted Navy housing systems with the centrally hosted web based system.
Today, the centrally hosted web based system is called Enterprise Military Housing (eMH) and is used by not only Navy, but also the Marines and Army housing programs. eMH Modules support installation housing management; overseas community referral and service; inventory and utilization reporting; General and Flag Officer Housing monitoring and reporting; Privatization portfolio management; overseas Leasing; furnishings management and current and projected housing requirements determination. On a 24/7 basis close to half a million unaccompanied beds and family homes are managed and reported in eMH.
