CORE TRAINING PRIVATE SECTOR
401: Energy Conservation and Resident Paid Utilities Symposium (Period 1 Only)

Everyone today is very conscious of conserving energy, and at the same time, the Services are implementing programs to transfer the responsibility for payment of utilities to privatized housing residents. When residents are responsible for payment of their utilities it creates conservation that generates costs savings that are available to reinvest into the housing deal and also generates reductions in green house gases and lessened reliance on nonrenewable fuels.

This symposium, with an OSD moderator and six panel members representing the Services and Private Partners, will discuss the various aspects of current energy conservation initiatives and each Service’s approach to changing the way residents pay for their utility consumption in privatized housing.

CORE TRAINING
403: Housing Early Application Tool (HEAT) Training (Period 2 Only)
Speaker: Mike Anderson

The Housing Early Application Tool (HEAT) Phase 1 is the first step to a fully automated Housing application process. HEAT allows service members (with dependents), or their spouses, to submit a Housing request to one or more Installation Housing Service Centers (HSC) – before or after they receive their PCS orders. This allows earlier contact between customers and the HSCs and/or PPV partners. Upon completion of this session, you will:

Understand the HEAT process and how it integrates with your current assignment and PPV referral policies.

Be able to manage HEAT records in eMH.
