WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND: The PHMA/MHLI Professional Development Seminar (PDS) offers focused career training in three basic tracks of interest to Military Family Housing, Unaccompanied Personnel Housing and Lodging professionals: Core Training, Personal Skills and Private Sector. All educational materials are closely coordinated and aligned with the Military Departments. They represent the most up-to-date for both public and private sector staffs with respect to content and appropriateness. The annual seminar offers a combination of courses, workshops and presentations as well as panel and group discussions that feature senior OSD and Service Leaders and staffs, along with top trainers and educators. All sessions cover topics related to today’s Military Housing issues and their status. Attendees are offered ample opportunities for networking with peers in all Services, to include the Military Service specific day to cover in detail materials particular to their respective ongoing operations. Pre Seminar courses provide Certification training in Housing and UPH. Additionally, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are offered to PDS attendees. This annual seminar also provides a Trade Expo venue for vendors to display/educate Housing Professionals on the latest items and services available in the Housing Industry supporting the DoD Housing programs. This setting allows the Housing Professional to communicate directly with the vendor on issues and concerns that are most relevant to their Housing program.
