The Military Housing and Lodging Institute (MHLI) is an educational nonprofit organization created to provide a more concentrated focus on training, education improvements, and the management of military and other federal housing programs.

MHLI is a pioneer in the “new industry of military housing” created by the government's initiative to privatize housing for its military members and their families.

MHLI provides specific development and certification courses for the Professional Housing Management Association (PHMA).

MHLI is readily available to federal agencies through the competitive bid process and is qualified through the GSA Corporate Contract Schedule to offer federal clients a full range of practical solutions to management, organization, and business problems (contract no. GS-10F-0162M). MHLI is also readily available to commercial firms.

Training (SIN 874-4)

MHLI has developed specialized and general interest courses and is able to provide at the agency’s site.Off-the-shelf courses are listed on the inside of this brochure. Customized courses and courseware unique to an agency’s needs may also be available.In conjunction with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and George Mason University, MHLI offers a Certificate in Real Estate Management.

All courses offered by MHLI provide Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit. MHLI is an authorized provider of CEU by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training.

Survey Development and Deployment (SIN 874-3)

MHLI can develop all phases of the survey process, including assisting the client frame the questions, design of the instrument, database administration, assessment of data validity, determination of data collection methodology, survey distribution and collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data and the preparation and production of reports.

MHLI is currently performing all phases of survey for Army Family Housing within the European Theater and at all U.S. Army Installations affected by the Residential Communities Initiative (privatization).

Consulting (SIN 874-1)

MHLI can provide consulting services to support government agency needs in the management, organizational and business improvement areas. Services can include special studies of human resources and organizational initiatives, analyses of organizational strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, and assistance with forecasting and long- and short-term planning.
